Vienna. 2 June 2022 / Kathrein Privatbank has received the award "Most Sustainable Private Banking Partner in Austria" for the first time as part of the "Global Sustainability & ESG Awards" of the trade magazine "The European". The European recognises organisations that stand out from the crowd and consistently advance their industries. Good corporate governance, innovation and know-how as well as the quality of services are important criteria. Kathrein Privatbank convinced the jury with its consistent sustainability approach and prevailed in the online voting.
Greenvestment instead of Greenwashing
Under the theme "Greeninvestment instead of Greenwashing", Kathrein Privatbank has been offering sustainable investment solutions for more than ten years. This has enabled Kathrein's portfolio management team to build up in-depth experience and expertise in sustainable investments, which benefits its clients. The stringent implementation of strict sustainability criteria in the customer portfolios enables tailor-made investments that match the customers' values. Wilhelm Celeda, CEO of Kathrein Privatbank, sees the award as a confirmation of his strategy: "We at Kathrein are sustainable by conviction. Almost 50 % of the portfolio we manage is managed according to sustainable criteria, and the trend is rising."
The future belongs to sustainable investment
The optimisation of opportunities through the consideration of ESG criteria has enjoyed a high priority at Kathrein Privatbank for many years. The three thematic blocks of environment, social affairs and corporate governance are systematically taken into account. Exclusion and quality criteria are defined and applied in the selection of securities (shares, bonds). The involvement of independent rating agencies guarantees complete independence between the sustainability rating process and the fund management.
In addition to a wide range of sustainable investment solutions, Kathrein also offers the opportunity to focus thematically on future topics such as health and the energy transition with the Kathrein Sustainable Global Megatrends Fund. "Our sustainable funds are often certified by several independent auditing bodies," explains Stefan Neubauer, board member of Kathrein Privatbank. "We are convinced that the future belongs to sustainable investment and that returns with a clear conscience are possible."
