So far, the global economy has coped surprisingly well with the challenges posed by this period of high inflation and the global rise in interest rates. Although the euro zone has been in a technical recession, after two consecutive quarters of negative growth of -0.1% respectively, currently there are no signs of a hard landing. In the US, there are no clear signs of a recession, but additional interest rate measures will probably be on the menu. Equity investors remain optimistic and hope that central banks will manage to control inflation while keeping a recession at bay. The economic environment remains challenging, and volatility is expected to remain high due to uncertainty.
